New Orleans Jazz Blues and Food

We just got back from a trip to New Orleans and had a fantastic time. The city is all I thought it would be. We were going of course for the food and the music. being fans of jazz and blues this was a natural draw for me and finally made it to new Orleans. We got a room in luxury hotels New Orleans in the French Quarter for the convenience. Not want to rent a car we got transportation at the air port to the hotel and the rest of the time was on foot.

It was great, the French Quarter was alive with the smells of southern and Cajun cooking. Hot oils frying foods and spicy aroma wafted all around us. I think I was feeling hungry just about all the time we were there with all those great smells.

At night we prowled the streets looking for bars and night clubs that had bands we wanted to listen to. We hit one place with this old guy banging out the blues on the piano. He was great, we thought where else on earth could you get to see and experience this! This guy had to have lived the blues the way he played and sang, the emotion was raw and you could see it in the air. He was the best performer we came upon the whole time we were there. But there were plenty of excellent performances we came upon. Some jazz bands playing one afternoon in a park were a lot of fun and drew a fairly large crowd that was dancing all over.

New Orleans is so alive with the music and food I can’t wait to get a chance to go back and eat more, hear more and see more. There seem to be a new adventure around every corner and down every alley.
