Seattle is the Best City in the Entire World

Seattle is the Best City in the Entire World

Seattle is my favorite US city. As a matter of fact, it’s one of my favorite in the entire world. It has outstanding food, great shopping, great music, it’s walkable, and there is sunshine believe it or not. I especially like the city because I can wear almost anything in your wardrobe and fit in anywhere. I do recommend though, to bring an umbrella and a good pair of walking shoes.

I like to stay at one of the luxury hotels in Seattle, because most are close to good restaurants and convenient to walk to any of the major tourist attractions. When I arrive here, I always take a car from the airport, but once in town, I walk almost everywhere, or use Seattle’s free downtown bus service. A car really isn’t necessary here, almost a burden, but if I want to explore the outer areas of Seattle, I like to know I can take my car.

My first stop is usually to Jack’s Fish Spot, which is near Pike’s Market. At Jacks, they sell fresh seafood and fish and serve up a mean platter of scallops and chips. They have the usual fare of chowder soups, oysters, seafood cocktails, but I recommend the crab or salmon. Both are very delicious. My next stop is to a very fine shoe store called J. Gilbert, which is located on 1st Ave in Belltown. I always get John to help me out. The shoe collection is outstanding, and they also have a unique collection of purses, women’s fashions and bags. Then, I stop of at Kuhlman’s for a pair of custom denims, it is expensive, but my jeans always bring a complement or two.

I’ve been to the Experience Music Project located at the Seattle Center, that’s where the Space Needle is located. I highly recommend visiting the EMP more than once. I found I missed some exhibits because I was focused on some other exhibit. For anyone new to Seattle, take The Duck, it’s a WW2 amphibious vehicle that will give you a tour of the city and of Lake Union.

I never have enough time to do all the things I’d like to do here, because I’ve also had made many friends here during my visits, so I need to see them also. There are only two more things I can tell you about Seattle: bring your appetite and lots of cash.

Hot tubs and Ancient Egypt

There is always an enormous pleasure in the moment when your feet first touch the warm water in your own hot tub at the end of every day.  We are truly creatures of habit, and we get used to rituals quickly, especially when they suit us.  The ritual of relaxing is something we need, but don’t pay attention to often enough.  That switch then, from the working rhythm to the relaxing rhythm, is one that we like, and it’s a wonderful thing for the body and the mind, to mark it with the ritual of relaxing in the spa.  That moment signifies that the day is over, and the night has really begun.  That’s part of the mystique about hot tubs, and of course you’ll also find that you can relax any time of day or night, and any season of the year.

Having the ability to take a soak any time you like means that you’ve made a commitment to yourself, to your health, especially the stress level, and to the ones you love.  Having a spa in your own home means that these things are important to you.  You’re entering into a kind of club of other hot tub owners, where you’re all living a little differently than the rest of us.  It’s a good feeling, and it’s not a new fad at all, but goes back a very long way.  Socrates recommended Egypt as a place to go to cure ills and improve your health.  Interestingly, this was centuries ago, and it was recommended for its seawater, and the mix of sand and sea, which are still the big draws for travelers today.

Egypt also has a gorgeous supply of natural hot springs, and they’ve been attractive to locals and visitors for millennia as well.  It’s fascinating to consider that hot tubs today are contemporary versions of these natural sources of water, and they are used for the same purposes.  Back then and now, they’re popular for the way they can help calm the mind and strengthen the body.

Enjoying my friends hot tub

I have been having such a great time here at my friends place, enjoying the hot tub while my friends are on vacation and I am watching their house and pets for them. Their hottubs is on a deck about 8 feet over their back yard. The yard is full of beautiful plants and lovely blooming flowers. At the end of the yard are some huge trees, so beautiful and very tall. I have been enjoying watching them sway in the late afternoon summer breeze wile soaking in the hot tub. I have been enjoying it so much I have to say I am seriously considering getting one for my own place now.

The relaxation is unbeatable, messaging away the tension in my shoulders, my back and my neck has been a very welcomed relief while I have been staying here. i know I will be missing this once they get back home and I go back to my place.

The benefits of the hot tub are amazing. I have been reading up and see reports that people have found relief from chronic headaches, back tension and muscle aches. All this can be attributed by the increased circulation caused by the messaging effects of the water and vascular dilation caused by the heat. Man y  people say they get a deep sense of relaxation after soaking in their hot tubs. This results in a better nights sleep. Some have even said this has had an enormous effect on the insomnia.

I am going to have to look into getting a hot tub. The enjoyment and the relaxation are the only things I need to know to want one. But after reading more and researching some of the additional beneficial effects of hydrotherapy I am sold on the idea of getting one.

The Lure of Water: Hot Tubs and Spas

There is an immense pleasure in knowing that when you get done with your busy day you can go home to your hot tub and let the stress just melt away.  It adds a whole new dimension to your life that never gets old.  The hot tub is the place to relax, entertain friends and family, unwind before bed, and to have great conversations about the meaning of life.  Our hot tubs and spas are made with the latest technologies, and we have a wide selection so that you can find the perfect fit for your tastes and lifestyle.

Water has a mysterious pull on all of us.  We are, after all, mostly water, and the sensation of floating is a reminder, directly to the body, of its own origins.  It also causes an immensely pleasurable sense of equilibrium, the buoyancy relieving weight on the muscular system, which can have profound physical benefits.  For mental clarity, there is nothing like relaxing in the water, and with heat and water jets, the relaxation is enormously more complex and invigorating.  The appeal of water is very deep, and very old, and civilizations all over the world have a fascination with water that is really ancient.  There is a long history of water in art that speaks to this obsession, and has produced some of the great works of painting, literature, and film.

Many of the great psychologists have written about the relationship between water and the unconscious.  Carl Jung is perhaps the most widely discussed on the subject, and his work investigates how water recurs over all cultures and time periods.  It is related to the moon, to the depths of the self, to the place where dreams come from.  Having a hot tub can speak to these fascinations, bringing the element into your home in a very profound way.  Of course, it is also enormous fun.  However the experience of your own spa might speak to you, you’ll be able to add new possibilities to your life, and share the joy of these possibilities with the ones closest to you.

Cooling Weather in Phoenix, Time to Fire Magic Grills Up

If history proves correct, the cooling temperatures in Phoenix will bring more people out of the house, into their back yards to fire magic grills and entertain in the outdoors.  With so much entertaining to do, it is a shame when the host of the parties and gatherings is constantly running back and forth, in and out the house to fetch the food, the drinks and anything else that might be in the kitchen.

But these days, there is another option and that is to design one’s own backyard kitchen, complete with sink, refrigerator, storage space and yes, the grills. And back yard grills are not what they used to be either.  Many of them nowadays come equipped with slow roasters and smoker settings,  drawers for warming and cabinets for storage, as well as side burners for the cooking of the side dishes.

In Phoenix the weather is fairly accommodating year round, give or take the months of summer.  As long as the kitchen is situated in a gazebo or a cabana, with sufficient protection covering the appliances from the sun, this is the perfect climate to just go ahead and bring the kitchen out of doors.  The heat keeps most people trapped inside their air conditioned spaces, and once the weather changes, people want to spend as much time out of those spaces as possible.

Some people choose to bring plants and flowers into the rooms of their houses, but other people are opting to bring the rooms of their house out into their gardens.  What is better than reach down into the garden and grabbing the herbs such as thyme and oregano, or the vegetables such as peppers and tomatoes, and then standing right back up and tossing them into the pot.  Many of the newly constructed homes are including the outdoor kitchens in the original floor plan for the home.  But it is not too difficult to add a kitchen to a pre-existing back yard, designing it along side the pool or under the patio, and it’s a great way to entertain guests in the fresh and open air.
